The Top 10 Colorado Daily Newspapers by Circulation

Newspapers have operated in Colorado since 1859 and continue to flourish to this day, with dozens of dailies and weeklies across the state. Perhaps the shortest-lived of all Colorado newspapers was the Boulder Planet, which existed for just four years (1996-2000).

    Founded in 1892, the Denver Post is the largest newspaper in Colorado and has won nine Pulitzer Prizes since capturing its first in 1964.

    The Gazette was founded in 1873 and is based in Colorado Springs. It has won two Putlizer Prizes.
  • 3. Boulder Daily Camera
    The Daily Camera was founded in 1890 and has had several banners over the years, including Boulder Camera, the Boulder Daily Camera, the Daily Camera, and the Camera.
  • 4. Fort Collins Coloradoan
    Published in Fort Collins since 1873, the Coloradoan was originally founded as the Larimer County Express.
  • 5. Grand Junction Daily Sentinel
    The Daily Sentinel serves six counties and is the largest newspaper in western Colorado.
  • 6. Pueblo Chieftain
    Published in Pueblo by Gannett and founded in 1868.
  • 7. Greeley Tribune
    Has served Greeley and northern Colorado for 150-plus years, the Tribune is just one year younger than the city of Greeley.
  • 8. Loveland Reporter-Herald
    Published in Berthoud, the Reporter-Herald covers local, regional, national and international news.
  • 9. The Aspen Times
    Published seven days a week in Aspen, the Times was founded in 1881 as the Weekly Times.
  • 10. Longmont Times-Call
    Founded in 1931, the Times-Call serves Longmont and surrounding areas even though it moved its offices from Longmont to Boulder in 2017.
