Not surprisingly, Nebraska’s largest two daily newspapers belong to its two largest cities – Omaha and Lincoln. Daily newspapers began appearing in Nebraska ever since it had become the 37th state in the Union, when the Nebraska Commonwealth (now the Lincoln Journal Star) was founded in 1867.

Serves the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area. Published in Omaha by Berkshire Hathaway, and winner of three Pulitzer Prizes.

Founded as the Nebraska Commonwealth in 1867, the same year Nebraska was admitted into the Union as the 37th state. The Journal Star is published in Lincoln by Lee Enterprises.

A daily newspaper published six days a week, serving North Platte and surrounding Lincoln County.

The Star-Herald serves the area of Scottsbluff along with its surrounding region. It’s published every day of the week except Monday.

Published six days a week in eleven counties in central Nebraska. Founded in 1870 as the Platte Valley Independent.

Published six days a week in ten counties in south-central Nebraska and parts of Kansas.
